The 9gig partition that I left open on my dell has finally been used by an appropriate operating system. I burned the 6.1-RELEASE freebsd ISO and so far it’s been pretty easy to get it setup on my laptop. I’ve been running freebsd since version 2 but I haven’t really touched it in some time. I still have a dual ppro server that runs it but that is in the garage atm. This readme has some good info on getting the ndis driver running for wireless. So far it’s connected to the home network via the main internal switch. Next step is getting some useful tools installed and some kind of graphical environment would be nice so I can take advantage of the 1920x1200 resolution properly.
